An Ordinance regarding providing for animal management inside the boundaries of Shiawassee County; purpose of Ordinance: definitions: County Animal Control Officer, duties, authority, duties and removal from office; Licensing and Vaccination of dogs; Animal Adoption and Alteration, alteration, contract, exemption, deposit, forfeiture, return of deposit, exempt from deposit, breach of contract; confinement of dogs and different animals under certain circumstances. The Animal Management Division is accountable for the operation of the Municipal Animal Shelter located at 1991 SE Hamblen Road, Lee’s Summit, MO. The shelter has separate areas for dogs and cats and those areas are additional broken down into four different sections: stray holding, adoptable, bite quarantine, and sick isolation.

The Animal Management Agency shall have jurisdiction to enforce this ordinance and the dog licensing statutes of the State of Michigan, and notably Act 339 of the Public Acts of 1919, as amended (the Dog Legislation of 1919); as amended in any metropolis, village or township of the County which doesn’t have an animal management ordinance.

Section four. It shall be the further duties of the Animal Management Officer, their deputies or assistants to enforce the provisions of this Ordinance and the statutes of the state pertaining to dogs and other animals, and so they might make complaint to the suitable District Courtroom or different applicable court in regard to any violation thereof.

The provisions of this paragraph shall be within the different to the provisions for violations set forth within the preceding paragraph and the Animal Control Officer, their deputies or assistants or different peace officer could, in his discretion, proceed below either section hereof.

Section eight. All charges and monies collected by the Animal Control Officer, his deputies or assistants as herein offered shall be accounted for and turned over to the Treasurer on or earlier than the primary of each month or more often if fairly obligatory under the standard practices of the Treasurer’s accounting system.
