A List of Stuff You Need In Order To Survive Outdoors
If you are someone who loves the outdoors and wants to spend significant time camping and mountain trekking in remote and isolated places, then you probably are aware how important it is to always bring the necessary survival gear in order to survive. So the only question left for us to answer is what should be inside your survival kit.
1 - Knife
When you're camping and you don't bring with you a knife as part of your outdoor survival gear, then you're like lacking one hand. You should understand that a knife isn't just for use in the kitchen because it also is an essential part of your survival gear. Well, the biggest reason why you must not go out there without arming yourself with a knife is because there are specific things it can do that no other outdoor survival gear can. This includes cutting rope, opening cans, building a shelter, preparing food, and cutting cloth and bandages.
2 - Cordage
Any DIY survival gear needs rope, without a doubt. As a matter of fact, it's almost impossible to survive out there in the wilderness if you don't have a rope with you. Rope is used for things like building shelter, climbing, holding things together, lashing poles, fishing, making animal traps, and for attachment purposes.
3 - Water Container
This one right here needs no explanation. If you don't know it yet, a human being is capable of surviving for days even without food, provided he has access to drinking water. With this in mind, it is therefore imperative that you always bring with you some kind of container that can be used for storing water. Know that not all water found outdoors is ideal for drinking.
4 - Signaling Device
Once you find yourself in a survival situation after camping and there seems to be no one else around, it means that one of your primary objectives is to look for ways to contact people. As the days go by without contact, you decrease your chances of being rescued. So as to be sure you have some aid in terms of establishing contact when you're in a survival situation, always bring with you a signaling equipment. A flashlight, mirror, whistle, or any other device that can produce either light or sound will be of great value. You just can forget bringing along a signaling equipment since it's an essential tactical survival gear.
Aside from those four, there still are so many essential survival things you must bring with you if you want to be sure you're safe out there, even in the middle of the most challenging survival situations.
